Gilt Groupe
Gilt is a site that has not only mens clothing but also womens and home decor. It is somewhat like a Living Social idea, as where you have to sign up and be a member before you can buy anything from them (don't worry it doesn't cost anything.) They run limited sales of designer brands for mega discounts for various types of clothing. There is never really a sure bet of what you are going to find(like as of now they have no denim sales) and the sales change every week. I myself have gotten a Jack Spade messenger from them for $70 when other sites are selling it for $100 more. Among other items. Sales don't last long and the inventory is always changing so you have to be quick!
MY GILT PICK: Run over there and pick up a couple two packs of Richer Poorer socks for $15. They have a bunch of assorted styles right now.
Topman USA
Topman is a fashion forward, mens only label from England. Their selection is immense and their prices are great. They also realize not all guys are 120 pounds so they have a good array of sizes. Everything from suits, to shoes, to whatever you need they have it.
MY TOPMAN PICKS The grey canvas satchel($60), the navy button up hoodie with white buttons($100) and the denim chukkas($60).
21men is Forever 21's mens line. Like the trendy womens clothes for mad cheap they made their name with, their mens line is much the same. I am unsure of how sturdy their garments are but for prices they sell them for, it doesn't really matter. They will last you a couple seasons, think of them like Ikea. And you can find some really cool stuff for really low prices and get a pretty decent wardrobe for under $300.
MY 21 MEN PICKS Vintage style windbreaker ($34.90) Pinstriped shirt($23.90) Knit shawl sweater($24.90) Sunglasses($5.90) Colorblock tie($9.90) Lightweight woven pants($34.90) Classic jeans($33.90) David Bowie tee($16.90) and the classic sneaker($12.90)
Lands End
Lands End is actually a little secret of mine that not many people think of for great looking clothes, and like L.L. Bean they get a bad rep. They're mature, classic and fit great and are durable. Don't believe me? look at GQ, every spring and fall you will see something from Lands End in their magazine, as well as L.L. Bean.
MY LANDS END PICKS Slim fit chambray pants($49.50) Buffalo check poplin shirt($39.50) Slim fit chinos in vintage brick($39.50) Pea coat in light khaki($99.50) Plaid poplin shirt in bright cyan/washed red($39.50) Leather workboot ($149) Slim fit jeans in rinsed indigo($28.00 on sale!) Nautical button shoulder sweater($26.99 on sale!)
Hope you enjoy, and happy hunting!

What I want! Wolverine 1000 Mile Collection
The Wolverine 1000 mile collection came out a couple months ago, and I laid my eyes on them it was love at first sight. Anybody have $750 dollars to give me so I can buy a pair? Thanks.

Let's run away and get married.
The "I don't think I can pay $300 for a pair of Red Wings conundrum" solved.
I am a big fan of the Red Wing boot rise. You see plenty of men trecking the urban jungle in these workhorse boots, and they last forever. On the same note, they're pricey. So what can the budget minded man who still wants to look great in the winter find a sturdy and dependable masculine boot for less? Wolverine. You're welcome.

This weeks mixtape pick.
I am going to start something along with posting tracks you should be rocking, I am going to pick mixtapes that I think are awesome and would like to share with the world. So my very first pick for the Attic's weekly mixtape series is....
JJ is from like, Sweden or something. I don't know who cares. Anyway he recently released a mixtape (click on the link to download.) He takes hip hop songs you know and love and gives them a dreampop feel, replacing the rapping with his soft ghostly crooning. It works pretty dang well in my opinion. Below is a preview of the first track so you can see what I mean. Load it up on your ipod and happy listening.

Neil Barrett Fall 2011 Collection.
So I was going through Neil Barrett's fall '11 collection. Call me old fashioned, but I don't think scuba pants should be making a splash in menswear unless you're in water. But I do appreciate the creativity. At least it's better than the genie pants coming back. Ew.

And here we go...
So I was originally going to launch on New Years. But I was really hung over. So yeah good way to start 2011 off right? Right. So anyway. My first post is just going to be to let you all know what you will find over here in the attic. Basically, it's a menswear blog. So predominantly mens fashion, accessories, grooming, etc. But I will also post some things that I think will assist you in your arsenal of being the best that you can be. So in the coming week I will be compiling a list of must haves for spring '11 and where you can buy them. Spring mixtapes, reading lists and cool sites to waste your time at work on(they should at least be inspiring though.) So thanks, and happy reading.
